Members affiliated with the department are invited to bring their families to this event. It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon and evening with games, prizes, etc.

Sign up your family no later than June 24th.

Anyone who might have cornhole boards and other outside games are asked to bring them for all to enjoy.

The station moved from its original location at 2349 Salisbury Highway, to our current location, in December, 2011. Our leadership consist of the department's seventh and eighth, but first, volunteer chiefs, Pete Deans and Mark Rackley. Deans and Rackley serve as Director of Operations and Director of Administration, respectfully.

As a values driven department, we are committed to serve with passion, respect, quality and integrity. In doing so, we can provide the citizens of the Wayside community with the best service possible.

It is only through the selfless dedication of the men and women who serve, support from our elected officials, and the citizens of the community that goals and accomplishments of the Department continue to be attained.

Proclamation of Dedication

Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc., a non-profit organization, has announced a Building Dedication;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. will establish a focus towards  the best possible protection to the residents of the Wayside district and the surrounding communities under the Mutual Aid Plan;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. has a mission to provide fire protection services to our community;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is committed to foster interest in all matters pertaining to the volunteer service and to promote the welfare and social advances of all volunteer firefighters;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. attains to impress upon our members good citizenship, civic virtue and self-sacrifice, and to perpetuate the spirit, which from the early days has been the driving force behind our volunteer firefighters in the performance of service of the highest type, in the protection of life and property from fire without hope of fee or reward;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is committed to promote the improvement and advancement of the Wayside community and its residents;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is proud of its history, traditions and community involvement;

Whereas, Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. invites all to declare May 19,2012 as the dedication of its building, will act as a model for all of us to follow, each and every day;

NOW, THEREFORE, The Board of Wayside Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. hereby dedicate and proclaim May 19, 2012 as the dedication of its building and invite all to observe and embrace this facility as an integral part of the Wayside community.
